idea how many beans it takes to make a hill,
I’ve chosen to blabber about what every one of us experiences; and sadly, are unsuccessful at avoiding. Our own versions gone amok; In other words the frustrations and obstacles in our way from obtaining our desires, wants, and what we deem, needs.
As often as I do, I bring to my bog insights and notions born from discussion. On this occasion an amalgam of influences that pointed me into the concept of subjective-meaningful life. The idea is succinctly inviting. Speaking as it does to the idea of abandoning external measures for happiness. Certainly there’s adequate research to support, along with numerous belief systems to suggest that your happiness is not anchored in material possessions; but I think the bigger suggestion is left to waste away without being harvested. What goes beyond material possessions is the notion of situation. A condition-or-situation where we are doing what, and with whom is actually something we selected. For whatever reason our choices are made, be it fear or profit, we chose each and every contributor to our situation.

"Oh, wait a minute Albert, I didn’t choose this chronic headache, backache, or ever-present-depression.” You might object.
I will grant, that physical existence includes physical pain and disease. We get injured, we develop disabling conditions, and sickness befalls us all. Yet who is unfamiliar with those rising above their debilitating afflictions?
A fairly well known comedian and late night talk show host, Craig Ferguson, mentioned a visit he made to Walter Reed Hospital to visit wounded soldiers. During that visit, he talked with a Marine who suffered double leg amputee by explosion of a nearby IED. They fitted him with prosthesis, in which afterwards the Marine commented, “This is great, I come in at 5’10” and leave at 6’2”. Now THAT is a positive spin! Yet it goes to emphasize what I’m saying about it all being about perspective. I read an article hovering on that notion titled five things to do with an Incompetent boss. Who hasn’t had one or more of THOSE? Short of discussing how to hide the body and deflect any evidence pointing towards you, it focused on the positive aspects; some I did not entirely embrace because some bosses are inept and let’s face it…stupid. But, the point of bringing it us was the article lead off with the best advice ever; it’s about perspective. Yes, and all of this is about perspective as well. The formula is simple, if not entirely easy:

Quality is achieved through care. Tending what you care about will render you to a quality outcome. If one cares about their car, it will be tended and tinkered on until it becomes a quality piece of machinery; if one cares about family they will devote time and energy into the individuals in the family and ultimately arrive at cherishing and reciprocally nurturing relationships. If one cares about surroundings then invested time and money into those attributes will derive a sense of accomplishment and comfort in achieving luxurious surroundings. Notice as well, the reference of care? It is used in context as care(s) or caring; an on-going practice. I won’t go on to say that a single facet in living will become the watershed of all joy; it is rarely so linear. Here is the punchline of my intent. Every single obstacle and frustration; every annoyance found in the pathway of your obtaining, is a condition of consideration: You can breathe life into it and make-it-real in your life, influence your point of view, and affecting your sense of competence, safety, well, you name it. Or you can dismiss its influence to being a happenstance that is passing by. The power of the later is that the externals are in fact raw matter for you to build your universe with; it’s inert, with only the power you assign it to affect you.
The value of perceiving you in the world rather than you being subject to the whims of the world is a point of quality. Now a great leap of understanding would then be; the pain in your Arse is the very threshold into a changed way of thinking about you in your situation. And let me be annoying by saying once again, the only condition we all share in common, is this state of change….That, my fellow sojourner is the true definition of grace….undeserved….favor….you choose.
