The Ongoing struggle is that of discerning if I’ve
correctly identified what it is I think I see; this effort ~ is
neverending. Take for instance:
As
amusing as the example can be, I was nowhere near considering the photo of a
lamp. Which ushers in one of my all time
favorite saying delivered by Antonine de Saint-Exupery’s fox, saying goodbye in his book The Little Prince: “It is
only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to
the eye”
Profound
in and of itself, but it’s the addendum that clinched it for me.
“It is the time you have wasted for your rose
that makes your rose so important”
Of
course it can be a lively discussion over the issue of what is a waste of time
when making anything important….because when we do this, we shift from dreaming
of a condition, to making it matter; as in a personal real.
To a frightened child, shadows as monsters
lurking in the closet are very real indeed.
Where we can fail
the litmus test of genuine, when we’ve matured into rational thinking,
comparing experience to fantasy, is when we inauthentically try to convince
ourselves we are right by making others wrong if they refuse to agree with our
perception.
This is my lamp….and it will light my path with its brilliant
glimmer.
