Men in Caves

Man, the gender, by nature is easily sedated.  A full stomach, some sex a little rest, and he would be content to remain with his meager surroundings; doing little to change his living condition or improve his surroundings.  But for a woman, our race could very well still be dwelling in caves.  It is the female of the species that inspires him to improve and become more.  Through her vision of what he could accomplish, great deeds are wrought.  Significant advances and progress, I believe, are most often predicated to the explorer, inventor, playwright and poets by a desire to please a loved one.  Aspiring to live up to the high esteem he perceives his loved one holds him in, he throws himself doggedly to the task at hand in order to capture, or even deserve, the personal accolades for his efforts.  To attain, rise up as it were, and become the noble creature that his woman, mother, wife, sister, or lover, tells him she perceives him to be.  His eager desire to become what they hold admirable is an irresistible light that he will follow into the darkest of caverns……… or out of the safest of caves.
Fraught with fear of the unknown, echoed growls of beast able to wrestle the living soul from his flesh, he ventures forward armed with nothing more than an unquenchable faith in his love.  Gods gift to man, is a loving woman.
