Be Beautiful

Might we not try to be beautiful today?

yes

why not?

Never mind the voice that clambers on 
about feeling like it or not

such counsel numbs

what does it reveal?

only discontent

I have discovered such a view

never lets lights in

or glimmers on its own accord

Dare to be ready at hand

to be useful, kind, present to listen; 
to care.

Prepared to become a memorial, a monument

a reflection that is illustrative

of why it is important

to reclaim fascination

from running astray into the wilderness

from the beaten path of ordinary

where whispers of despair echo harshly

why bother?

Because life made me famished
and capable 
to sample

More than I ever dreamed possible
